Opening Statement

TLC has developed a compelling and unique approach to Opening Statement. Faculty lead Milton Grimes describes Opening Statement as “the sum of all the parts of trial (with light argument built in, cross and direct, soliloquy, reenactment, and voir dire), that will leave the jury wanting to find a way to help your client.”

Due to concerns relating to Covid-19, this course has been cancelled for 2022

Direct Examination

The key to direct examination, as in every element of the trial, is to help the juror emotionally connect to the story. Your job in direct exam is to bring out the feeling that drives the witness’ story … and help the witness tell their story around that feeling.

TLC FLAGSHIP 3-WEEK COLLEGES

This comprehensive 3-week program dissects courtroom procedures with painstaking detail to provide hands-on tools toward achieving justice. Knowledge of oneself gives the lawyer the capability to know others and to connect with each person in the courtroom including the witnesses, the judge, and the jurors. The power of TLC’s methods come alive through creative, spontaneous, outside-the-box innovations that capture juries and move them to justice. If you want more general information about TLC and our courses, please click here.

*Please note: Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Admission decisions are made by the board at one time and notifications will be sent within a 6-weeks of the application deadline.
